Commercial dates follow calendar rules and are exact for any year. Holiday dates come from official calendars and say so when tentative.

A date in a table does not run itself.

You have the events and the day each campaign has to be live. Nudgesmart is where that campaign gets built and put on the storefront, and days until holiday is one of its targeting conditions, so the popup can hold itself back until the run-up starts.

How it's calculated

An ecommerce marketing calendar is the set of retail dates a store sells into, together with the day to switch each campaign on rather than only the day of the event itself. For Black Friday 2026, which falls on Friday 27 November, that means a teaser live from Wednesday 28 October, the main offer from Friday 13 November and final urgency from Tuesday 24 November.

Offsets: the holiday-proximity factor in the Nudgesmart storefront intent model, which scores a date at 0.25 from 30 days out, 0.40 from 14, 0.60 from 7, 0.85 from 3, 1.00 on the day and 0.50 for 3 days after. Commercial dates are computed from calendar rules. Public and religious holidays come from official published holiday calendars. No date on this page is estimated.

One date and one ladder. The dates are the easy half and everybody publishes them; the offsets are the half that decides whether the campaign was live in time.

The retail date
The day itself. Commercial dates such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday are computed from a calendar rule, so they are exact for any year: Black Friday is the day after the fourth Thursday of November, and Cyber Monday is the Monday after that. Public and religious holidays are fetched rather than computed, because a rule cannot produce them.
Proximity score
What our storefront model gives a shopper based on how close the nearest retail date is. It is a live input to whether a campaign fires, not a metric invented for this page. The ladder has six rungs and the schedule has six rows because they are the same six rungs.
30 days out
The first day the proximity score is anything other than zero. Starting earlier is not wrong, it simply earns no proximity signal, which is why this is the recommended start rather than an arbitrary month.
14 and 3 days out
The rungs where the score steps to 0.40 and then 0.85. The main offer belongs at the first, final urgency at the second. They are read off the model, not chosen for how they sound.
3 days after
The sixth rung, and the one most calendars miss entirely. The score is still 0.50 for three days after the event, so the schedule runs past the date instead of stopping on it.
Your market
Changes both halves of the list. The global commercial dates are the same everywhere because they are computed from calendar rules, but the public and religious holidays are entirely different, seven markets add regional trading periods, and whether an event should appear at all can change: markets on the non-Christmas list do not get Christmas as a headline date.

The tail column is the row most calendars do not have. The proximity factor is still 0.50 for three days after an event, so a campaign that ends on the day ends early — which is why Black Friday’s schedule runs to Cyber Monday rather than stopping on the Friday.

What this number doesn't tell you

A schedule is not a forecast

These dates say when shopper intent around an event is measurable, not how much anyone will spend. Nothing on this page projects revenue, and a date being on it is not a claim that it is worth trading into for your category.

The ladder is about proximity, not about your offer

The model scores how close the date is. It has no opinion on whether the discount is deep enough, the creative works, or the product suits the occasion. A perfectly timed campaign for the wrong offer is still the wrong offer.

Commercial events are computed, holidays are fetched, and they are not equally certain

Black Friday follows a rule and is exact for any year. A public holiday depends on an official calendar and, for lunar and Islamic dates, on observation that can move the day either way by one. Every row on this page states which of the two produced it.

Not every market has regional trading dates, and that is a real difference

All 56 markets get the twelve global commercial dates and their own public and religious holidays, which is the bulk of what a retail calendar is for. Seven of them also carry regional trading periods, so a merchant in the United Arab Emirates sees the Dubai Shopping Festival and a merchant in Germany does not see a German equivalent, because there is no rule for one that we would not be inventing. That is a gap in the source, not a judgement about the market.

Seasons are ranges, and the schedule anchors on the start

Trading periods such as the holiday shopping season or an end-of-financial-year sale run for weeks. The schedule counts backwards from the day the period opens, which is the day the campaign has to be live, not from the middle or the end.

Questions

When should I start a Black Friday campaign?

Thirty days out. For Black Friday 2026, which falls on Friday 27 November 2026, that is Wednesday 28 October 2026 for a teaser, Friday 13 November for the main offer and Tuesday 24 November for final urgency. Thirty days is not a rule of thumb: it is the outermost rung of the proximity model Nudgesmart runs on the storefront, and at thirty-one days out that model scores the date at exactly zero.

Why does this calendar tell me to keep running after the date?

Because the model still scores proximity at 0.50 for three days after an event. A campaign switched off on the day itself switches off while shopper intent is still elevated. Every schedule on this page therefore ends with a tail row rather than on the date.

Is there a month view, or just a list of dates?

Both, plus a shortcut. The page opens on the next five dates for your market, each with the day to switch the campaign on, then a month grid where every dated day is marked and opens into its full schedule. Underneath those, every date in both years is in a list you can open, grouped into worldwide dates and your own market. The grid shows one month at a time and every month from January 2026 to December 2027 is its own link, so moving through the year never loses the country you chose.

What is the difference between the two kinds of date on the grid?

A filled coral square is a commercial date computed from a calendar rule, such as Black Friday being the day after the fourth Thursday of November. A hollow blue circle is a public or religious holiday taken from official published holiday calendars, such as Thanksgiving Day or Diwali. They come from different sources and they are not equally certain: the computed ones are exact for any year, while a holiday depends on an official calendar and, for lunar and Islamic dates, on observation that can move the day by one.

Which countries does this cover?

56 markets across North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa, and Latin America, each with its own public and religious holidays alongside the commercial retail calendar. The twelve global commercial dates, meaning Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Singles Day, Christmas, Valentines Day, the Back to School and Holiday Shopping seasons and the rest, are computed from calendar rules and apply in every one of them. Seven markets carry extra regional trading dates on top: the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, India, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have their own seasons such as the Dubai Shopping Festival, Riyadh Season, Boxing Day Sales and end of financial year. Every market gets the full backwards-dated schedule either way.

Why is Christmas missing from the Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates lists?

The same exclusion list our storefront model uses treats those markets as non-Christmas, and the model scores Christmas proximity at zero there. Surfacing it as a headline retail date would contradict the model this tool is built on, so the event is dropped from the data rather than hidden in the layout.

Where do Diwali, Ramadan and Eid come from?

From official published holiday calendars, fetched and committed into the build. Those dates move against the Gregorian calendar and cannot be produced by a rule, so they are fetched rather than computed: Diwali is 8 November 2026 and 29 October 2027, and Ramadan begins on 18 February 2026 in the United Arab Emirates. Where the source itself is not certain of a date it says so, and this page carries that word through rather than smoothing it over: the 2027 Islamic dates are published as tentative. The alternative was to print an approximation from a hardcoded table, which is what the underlying app did; that table put the start of Ramadan 2026 on 17 February, one day wrong, and it was deleted rather than ported.
