A tour of the Nudgesmart dashboard
Walk through every section of the Nudgesmart dashboard so you know where campaigns, analytics, templates, and settings live.
Where everything lives in the Nudgesmart admin — campaigns, templates, analytics, integrations, settings — and what each section is for.
TL;DR
The Nudgesmart admin has a left-hand navigation with the main sections: Home (welcome screen and setup guide), Campaigns (your popup list and editor), Templates (the gallery), Analytics (conversion and engagement metrics), Experiments (A/B testing), Integrations (Klaviyo and other connections), Billing, and Data Privacy. Most merchants spend their time in Home, Campaigns, and Analytics — the others are configured once and revisited rarely.
Top-level navigation
The left navigation persists across every screen in the Nudgesmart admin. It's where you jump between the major sections. Click the Nudgesmart logo at the top to return to Home from anywhere.

Home
The first screen you see. Click the Nudgesmart logo to return here from any other page.
The Home screen has three things:
- Setup guide — a checklist showing where you are in onboarding (account created, theme extension enabled, first template chosen, first campaign published, ESP connected). Each step has an action button to complete it.
- Choose Your Campaign Template — a curated row of templates so you can ship a high-converting popup in minutes without leaving the welcome screen.
- Free-trial banner — explains the 14-day trial on paid plans, with no charge until the trial ends.
Once you've shipped your first campaign, the welcome screen also shows recent campaign performance at a glance.
Campaigns
Your list of every popup, banner, and notification — published, draft, and paused. Click any campaign to open the visual editor.

From the campaigns list you can:
- Create a new campaign from scratch (pick the campaign type, then design)
- Duplicate an existing campaign to A/B test variations
- Pause or activate a campaign without leaving the list
- Filter by status (Active, Draft, Paused) or campaign type
Click any campaign to enter the visual editor. The editor is where you customize copy, image, layout, targeting rules, and triggers.
Templates
The full template gallery — grouped by goal, filterable, and previewable.
Use Templates when you want to ship something fast. Each template is pre-tuned for a specific outcome: email capture, exit intent, spin-the-wheel, social proof, countdown timer, survey, and more. Click a template to preview it; click again to create a draft campaign from it. See Create your first popup from a template for the full flow.
Analytics
Conversion and engagement metrics for every campaign — broken down by traffic source, device, and time range.

Two things live in Analytics:
- Campaign performance — impressions, conversion rate, emails captured, revenue attributed (when discount codes are tracked through to checkout). Filter by campaign or look at the whole account.
- Engagement signals — which trigger fired (exit intent, scroll, time on page) and how shoppers behaved before and after seeing the popup. Useful for iterating on triggers when a campaign isn't converting as well as expected.
Experiments
The A/B testing surface. Run two or more variants of a campaign side-by-side and let Nudgesmart pick the winner based on conversion rate. Useful once you have a baseline campaign converting and want to test specific changes (headline copy, button color, trigger timing).
Integrations
Connect Nudgesmart to your other tools. The most common integration is Klaviyo (or your email service provider) — captured emails flow directly into your ESP without you exporting CSVs. Other integrations include Shopify discount codes (already connected by default once the app embed is enabled).
Billing and Data Privacy
Two settings sections you'll visit rarely:
- Billing — your current plan, invoice history, and plan upgrade options. Plans include a 14-day free trial with no charge until the trial ends.
- Data Privacy — GDPR/CCPA controls, data retention settings, and merchant-data export tools.
Survey Results
If you've shipped any survey campaigns, this section shows aggregated responses with branching question flows visualized. If you haven't, the section is empty — and you can ignore it until you ship your first survey.
Common pitfalls
- You're looking for a setting and can't find it. Most popup-level settings (copy, design, targeting, frequency, triggers) live INSIDE the campaign editor — not in a top-level Settings section. Open the campaign first, then look in the right-hand panel.
- Analytics shows zero data. Make sure the Enable Theme Extension step in the setup guide is complete. Without the embed enabled, no campaign data gets reported. See Enable the Nudgesmart app embed block.
- Recent activity isn't updating. Most metrics update in near-real-time, but conversion attribution (e.g., revenue from a popup-issued discount code) can lag by a few minutes while Shopify reconciles the order.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I change the storefront targeting rules for a campaign?
Inside the campaign editor, look for the Targeting or Triggers tab in the right-hand panel. Audience rules, page targeting, and trigger configuration all live there.
Can I rearrange the navigation?
The left navigation order is fixed for now — it's optimized around the merchant journey from install to ship to iterate.
How do I invite a teammate?
Nudgesmart inherits your Shopify staff permissions. Anyone with Apps and channels access on your Shopify store can sign into Nudgesmart and see the dashboard.
