How to import reviews from another review app

TL;DR

Export your reviews as a CSV file from your old review app. In Nudgesmart, go to Store Widgets → Manage Reviews and click Import Reviews. Upload the file, check the columns, look over the preview, confirm the reviews are real and click Import. Photos copy over in the background. You can store up to 5,000 reviews.

Which apps can I import from?

Nudgesmart reads review exports from:

• Judge.me
• Yotpo
• Loox
• Okendo
• Stamped
• Ali Reviews
• Ryviu
• Shopify Product Reviews
• A CSV file you exported from Nudgesmart

Using another app? You can still import its CSV file. You'll just match the columns yourself (see Step 3).

Step 1 · Export your reviews from your old app

Don't edit the file first. Nudgesmart reads the app's own column names.

Step 2 · Upload the file

Nudgesmart looks at the columns and tells you which app the file came from.

Step 3 · Match the columns

You'll see this step when Nudgesmart doesn't know the file. You'll also see it for some apps, already filled in. Look it over and fix anything that's wrong.

Columns that hold email addresses are set to Don't import, and you can't change them.

Step 4 · Check the preview

The preview also lists rows that will be skipped, with the reason for each one. Some apps write dates in a way that could mean two things, such as 03/04/2026. Nudgesmart flags those rows so you can check them.

Step 5 · Confirm and import

Only real reviews from real customers can go live on your store. Your confirmation covers every review in this import.

When it's done, click Open Reviews to see them.

What we don't import

We leave some things out on purpose:

• Customer emails, IP addresses, locations and phone numbers. These columns are removed on your computer before anything is sent to Nudgesmart.
• Reviews that weren't published in your old app, such as rejected or pending reviews.
• Store reviews from Yotpo. Only product reviews come in.

Reviews marked as a verified purchase keep that badge. Reviews marked as incentivized are marked as Gifted.

Photos

Nudgesmart copies review photos into its own storage. That way they keep working after you remove your old app.

• Each review can have up to 4 photos.
• Each import can bring in up to 500 photo links.
• Photos copy in the background after the import. You can keep working.
• Stamped and Shopify Product Reviews exports don't include photos.

Some photos come from a site we don't copy from. Those reviews still import with their text, plus a note: Photo from an unsupported site — upload it on the review. Open the review and upload the photo yourself.

If any photos fail, the Manage Reviews page tells you how many and why.

The 5,000 review limit

Each store can hold up to 5,000 reviews. As you get close, you'll see how many you have, such as "You have 4,812 of 5,000 reviews". At the limit, delete some reviews to import more.

Common pitfalls

• Rows are skipped. Check the reason in the preview. Common ones are a missing name, a missing rating or empty review text.
• Reviews aren't linked to products. Make sure the product column was matched. Products are matched by ID or handle.
• I imported the same file twice. That's fine. Reviews you already have are updated, not copied again.

Frequently asked questions

Will my reviews show on my store right away?

Published testimonials widgets pick up new reviews that match their rules on their own. If a widget has unpublished changes, publish it to show the new reviews. Check that each widget's Which reviews to show settings include them.

Can I import FAQs or size charts too?

Yes. Open an FAQ or size guide widget and click Import in the editor.
